A mammoth crowd
gathered yesterday March 27, 2014 to support ekiti state governor, Mr Kayode
Fayemi, as he kick- started his pleas to Ekiti people for re election
The rally was attended
by other All Progressive Congress(APC) governor which include : Ibikunle Amosun
of Ogun state, Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state, Rochas Okorocha of Imo state,
Murtala Nyako of Adamawa, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state and Abubakar Abdulaziz
of Zamfara state
They were unanimous in
their message to the people of Ekiti state saying the Governonr should be re
elected based on his achievement in the provision of infrastructure, education,
and healthcare and youth empowerment
While addressing his supporters,
the Governor said his administration has achieved all his election promises in
his manifesto for his first term adding that there is much more to be done
which is why he is seeking the peoples mandate for another four years”
If the eulogizing and
commendation statement made by APC allies are really true about their party
nominated candidate seeking for re election on the basis of having been achieve
so much in terms of provision of infrastructure, education, healthcare and empowerment
of jobless youths in Ekiti state that should be done by Ekiti citizens not the
politicians
If all these so claimed
achievement is really true and evident how come Ekiti state has not become the
best of all states in Nigeria? If any governor in Nigeria state is to be judge
by this claim of rating excellent in provision of infrastructure, education,
healthcare and empowerment then No state will deserved commendation and
applause in Nigeria
However, in terms of
infrastructural development, how many rural and remote villages have had access
to sustainable good roads, good water supply, medical services, affordable
government owned housing scheme in all 14 local government areas in the state?
Little or substantial
achievement must have been recorded in the aspect of education and healthcare
but not a strong indication of unquestionable dividend of good governance to
the people. I don’t seem to understand the criteria use to rate Fayemi
administration better than previous administration in Ekiti state in terms of
Educational development and healthcare delivery. It is good for us to know that
development is not all about the government but about the people. Acclaimed
good governance without true reflection in the welfare of the common citizens is
of no good governance”. The welfare of an average citizen of Ekiti state should
reflects the acclaimed good governance of Fayemi administration
Maybe Mr. Governor
should come and publicly give evident in all the local government 21st
century development projects initiated in all remote areas of the state
More than 80% of Ekiti
state indigene are directly or indirectly links to agriculture, how his
administration has provides socio-economic environment for farmers to improve
on their welfare or to enhance their productivity. How many state farms were
set up? How many farmers were given subsidy and grants in remote area and
villages in all the local government?
The whole government in
this country at all level as failed in aspect of youth empowerment. The whole
essence of youth empowerment is to reduce unemployment and idleness among the
youth population. Despite the acclaimed untraceable efforts of most state
governors and even the federal government of Nigeria in this regard, it was
evident during Nigeria Immigration recruitment saga that the youth in this
country has been neglected. We need an evident to shown that the youths in
Ekiti state has been empowered by Fayemi Administration.
If Kayode Fayemi
administration had empower unemployed youth in Ekiti, what percentage of Ekiti
unemployed youth benefitted from this scheme. I think it is high time we stop
using sampling method to implement government policies in Nigeria
Good governance is for
the people, by the people and for the people to adjudge. Governor Kayode Fayemi
supposedly might have better administration and good governance of Ekiti state
but this is not sufficient enough for eulogizing his administration by APC but
should allow the people to commend him for job well done in Ekiti state
By June 2014 once
again, Ekiti state citizens will decide who determine their fate for the next
four years whether change is needed or the current development pace should
continue for the next 4years. It is good to note that, this article is not
political nor partisan or written to undermined Governor Kayode Administration
but strengthen and deepen democracy in Ekiti state. Mr. Governor should be
hinted that, good governance is a right of all citizens of Ekiti state and it
impact must be felt by all. We want the impact of his administration to be felt
in all nooks and cronies of the state.
We want to see good and
new roads constructed in remote areas,
Establishment of housing scheme in rural areas, make healthcare affordable and
accessible in all our local government, we want to see grassroots oriented
policy that will improve the welfare of the young and old, farmers and artisans
including all occupants of Ekiti state, we want to see productive Ekiti young
men and daughters, we want transparent, consistent, non partisan and affordable
grants and loans for Ekiti farmers and other economic minding citizen. We want
to see old schools and college upgraded to 21st century status and
instituted news ones to meet pressing needs in needy areas. If Fayemi
administration as it was acclaimed abolished poverty in the life of old
citizens in the state, that should reflect in the life of old citizens in all
the nooks and cronies of Ekiti state not in the sampled or portion of some
certain selected elders
Long life ekiti state
