Governor Kayode Fayemi and five thousand Naira Social Security Benefits for Aged Ekiti Residents: Matter Arising!

E-Political Gist

Dr John Kayode Fayemi popularly known as JKF is the No 1 citizen and a sitting governor of Ekiti state which is formerly known as fountain of knowledge which is now refer to as “Land of Honour”. Kayode Fayemi find his way to Ekiti state house after  prolong court battle to recovered his mandate from the then ruling party that swindle his electoral mandate from governorship gubernatorial general election of 2007 in Ekiti state Nigeria. After a long court protracted battle between him and the then PDP acclaimed winner Egr Segun Oni, he was restored back to office in 2010. Since then, he has been in charge of Ekiti state administration.

“This article is not to access Fayemi administration or to access his political manifesto but to verify and ascertain the authenticity of alleged five thousand naira social security benefit payee able to all aged citizens or residents of Ekiti state in Nigeria”

Although, this is a great innovation and good news to all elders’ residents in the state but how true is the implementation of this policy? However, I hope this social security policy is a right not a privilege to all target beneficiaries who meet the policy criteria which must be far from political or other undemocratic option.
According to Ezone source, the criteria use to rolled out this social security to beneficiaries and evidence of it payment is still ambiguous but some of the report available to us reveals that not all aged bonafide citizens of Ekiti state has being benefitted from this policy

I hope Mr. Governor, this is not like one of those deceitful policies that several politicians usually use to steal public fund. If not ,  we think all these aged individuals should at least be aware of this policy regardless of their local government , political affiliation, education, religion, location etc and also be a beneficiary not that certain political group will be sample to represent all others persons in the state.

I asked may be his excellence will put this information in a public domain for everyone to see to justify the transparency of this program not just to use it to create media justification  without no visible democratic manifestation.

As for us at Ezone, approach use to roll out this dividend of democracy is questionable because they are many aged residents that have no knowledge of this policy. In Ekiti state, we don’t want policy of political party or sectarian policy but benefit of democracy to all Ekiti residents
