Few days ago, some
members of opposition party called on concerned legislators to staged
impeachment process against Nigeria No 1 citizen: President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The All peoples
congress (APC) spokesperson Lai Mohammed
claimed that the impeachment of President Jonathan is imperative at this point.
The called for this impeachment move as generated so much physical and media
attention and criticism among Nigerians.
Recently, the erstwhile former president alleged the current
president of misplacement of priorities in a position of governance, Tambuwal the speaker of the Nigeria lower house of
legislative also allege the president of nursing corruption and several other
displeased Nigeria has doubt the ability of the No 1 citizen to fix Nigeria
state
However, presently it
is not a doubt that Nigeria has a country is not working” every sphere of the
economy is struggling and there is a lot of kiosk and mayhem in the land
considering economic, social and political indices. Power or energy sector for instance despite
the transition from public to private has not yield positive changes, education
is just recuperating from five month old industrial action, health sector is
about to be shut down by aggrieved medical workers, corruption is becoming a
lifestyle, agriculture is abandoned and neglected , security status especially
in the north and part of the south is questionable , aviation sector
struggling, manufacturing nil, and youth empowerment and employment is nil
Despite all these
daunting challenges, impeachment of Jonathan will not be the end to these Problems:
Reasons
- Nigeria problems are as much as they are when Jonathan assume office
- Much of these problems are there as far as 1960s till now
- Jonathan is not the root of Nigeria problems and therefore might not be the true solution provider to Nigerians problems
- A wound of many years cannot be heal in a day and therefore problem of about 53yrs cannot be fixed within 6yrs
- Problems in Nigeria cannot be fix alone by Jonathan but through collective effort of all Nigerian state and citizens
“Therefore,
the called for impeachment of Jonathan by members of APC and their political
associates is destructive and not patriotic hence the called should be
discarded and ignore by all Nigeria citizens”
APC political elites
are part of Nigeria problems and they may not be the solution to Nigeria
problems, let them fix the problems in their state and territory first, then
Nigerians will listen to their pleas. Some of them have occupied various positions
in their state and at the centre, what has been their landmark achievement in
terms of promoting peoples welfare and socio economic development of Nigeria
state. The basis of Nigeria problem is corruption” how many of these political
elite in APC can swear by Ogun, Sango, other goddies and their parents grave
that they have not directly or indirectly steal Nigerians money.
What we need
in Nigeria goes beyond planting of flowers while citizens lives on empty
stomach with no hope of tomorrow and implementation of non tangible policies
that cannot end the suffering of a common man. It is only unfortunate that
Jonathan sit at the centre, the failure and all forms of undevelopment in all
the 36 states of the federation cannot be out rightly put on Jonathan administration.
One thing is certain,
if you cannot fix your state, you cannot fix the centre, and if all the state
is made to work then it will justify the centre. What we need in Nigeria state
is to collectively work together to fix our fathers land. If Nigeria succeeds,
then it is for all of us and if otherwise we shall pay for it together.
Jonathan should be
allowed to prove his leadership prowess may be he can fix things not that these
congregations of self political driven individuals who are after their personal
and political interest will disrupt this country for us. To all common man in
this country, do not be allowed yourself to be used by any desperate power
seekers because if anything happen today, they can fly in their private own jet
but where will you and I run to?
Let us join hands
together to build Nigerian state, we can fight corruption and end bad
leadership not by violence or using selfish political oriented utterances to create
societal pandemonium in the society. For those who do not see anything in
Jonathan administration, come 2015 we shall see how far they will go
Beware, what matter is
not where we are but where we are going
